Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangha calls on surgical strike hero Lt. Gen. D S Hooda

GUWAHATI: The National delegation of Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangha - the only national social organization of Indian Gorkhas led by its National Working President, Dr. Munish Tamang called on surgical strike hero Lt. Gen. D S Hooda, here on Wednesday.

Gen. Hooda is the author of India’s National Security Strategy Report (2019) in which he has extensively discussed the North East region and its issues. He has specifically recommended an early “resolution of the Gorkhaland problem”. He stated, “The issue of Gorkhaland needs to be viewed from a national security perspective and not Marie political advantages.”

Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangha thanked Gen. Hooda for his views on Gorkhaland and discussed and shared ideas on how to seek resolution of this issue.

Gen. Hooda has assured that he will continue to advocate resolution of the issue with the Government and with various think tanks and policymakers. The statement read, ‘Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh (BGP) will work with all stakeholders towards evolving a comprehensive policy for a Permanent Political Solution for the region.’
