GUWAHATI: Close on the heels of the national executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which was held in Hyderabad, the State unit of the party will hold an emergency meeting at Dibrugarh on July 9.

According to party sources, the meeting will discuss important organizational matters with an eye on the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. The meeting will be attended, among others, by the presidents of 40 organizational districts of the party, district observers and co-observers, and presidents of various Morchas of the party.

The BJP has already launched a 'Lok Sabha Pravas Yojana' under which party workers will visit all households of beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of the Government and reach out to them with the aim of making them party members.

The programme also encompasses a campaign to target first-time voters in the age group of 18-25. The programme further aims to identify and woo voters in families of armed forces personnel.
