Bike rally for awareness on breast cancer organized by Health City Hospital

GUWAHATI: Kamrup (M) DC Biswajit Pegu flagged of pink ride — a bike rally from Guwahati to Chandubi organized by Health City Hospital on the occasion of international breast cancer awareness month on Sunday. The DC spoke on more awareness on breast cancer and as to how early screening of the disease helps its diagnosis. The theme of the year is – give hopes and save lives.

Rapid increase of the disease amongst women due to lack of knowledge almost 50 per cent of the breast cancer cases are diagnosed at late or advanced stage, said Dr. Bhabananda Das. Paragjyoti Dutta, hospital faculty director, said that the rally was taken part by 50 bike riders to create awareness on breast cancer in the society.
