Bike thieves caught by locals and handed over to Basistha police

GUWAHATI: A bike that was attempted to be stolen by one Idris Ali on April 22 was caught by the owner with the help of locals and handed over to Basistha police. A case (656/19 U/S 379/511 IPC) was registered and after producing him at court on April 23, he was in police remand for seven days. Following his confessions, one Sahidul Islam who is a stolen bike receiver, was arrested on Thursday evening at Til Pukhuri in Abhyapuri. Islam confessed to having sold a stolen bike to one Anwar Hussain, who was arrested at Hapasar in Bongaigan.
