GUWAHATI: The State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Friday released its election manifesto for the Tiwa Autonomous Council Election which will be held on December 17.

The manifesto having the party's frame work for development of the Tiwa areas was released by the party's State president Ranjeet Kumar Dass at his residence.

After the inauguration programme, addressing the media, Dass claimed that the BJP will form the next Tiwa Council the region.

He said that out of 36 constituencies it will field candidates in 35 constituencies, leaving one for the AGP (Asom Gana Parishad).

"We are confirmed to win in 30 constituencies. Similar to the campaigning of the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) Election, we are campaigning for the Tiwa polls in full swing. The CM will attend three election meetings in the following days and State Finance Minister HimantaBiswaSarma will continue his election rallies in the region," said Dass.

He said he will campaign for the polls on December 12, 13, and 14.

On Thursday, theState BJP organized a special meeting at its Hengerabari office to discuss the party's poll strategies for the forthcoming polls.

Chairing the meeting, Dass gave his confidence to the party workers that the BJP will be victorious in the polls.

"The BJP has taken a pledge for all round development of all the communities in the State including the Tiwas. With the support from these communities we will win the polls," Dass asserted.

The meeting was attended by BJP national general secretary Dilip Saikia, Minister Pijush Hazarika, MP Queen Oja, MP Horen Singh Bey, MP Pallab Lochan Das, incharge of 36 constituencies in the Tiwa Auotnomous Council, among others.
