Bureau of Investigation Economic Offences arrests one over corruption

GUWAHATI: A team of BIEO (Bureau of Investigation Economic Offences) officials led by Jayanta Baruah, APS Deputy SP arrested one Aimoni Saikia alias Borosha Saikia from Bokakhat for allegedly misappropriating public money in the name of creating micro finance unit.

Saikia was arrested in connection with BIEO case no- 18/2018.

The accused has allegedly created 26 micro unit where public has deposited huge amount of money with the promise of huge returns. However, the accused allegedly misappropriated the beneficiary due amount.

A large number of notebooks with account details and other documentary evidence have been seized from her possession.

She has been booked under section 120(B)/420/406/506 IPC R/W section 5 of APID Act, 2013 and sent her to judicial custody as per the order of CJM Court, Kamrup Metro.
