Car thief arrested from the Basistha-Beltola main road

GUWAHATI: One Hiten Narzary of Tezpur, a member of a gang of inter-state car thieves, was apprehended by a car owner from the Basistha-Beltola main road.

According to police sources, Narzary broke into a parked Bolero vehicle using sophisticated car-jacking equipment. However, he was spotted by the vehicle's owner who managed to catch the thief. The vehicle's owner later handed over Narzary to the Basistha police.

The sources identified the thief as a member of an inter-state car thieves' gang and said that efforts are on to get more information from him.
