CCTOA Decides To Form Tribal political Action Committee Soon

GUWAHATI: The Coordination Committee of the Tribal Organizations of Assam (CCTOA) has decided to form a tribal-political action committee, Assam to blend demands being raised by various tribal organizations of the State in support of their hopes and aspirations into a chorus.

The CCTOA held a tribal convention at Guwahati on Tuesday. Terming the present political situation in Assam a volatile one, a release issued after the convention issued by its chief coordinator Aditya Khakhlari said: “It can be an opportunity for tribal people of the state as well. The situation is vulnerable enough to make us bridge all differences among us and move forward for the greater interests of tribal people of the State. The aim and objective of today’s convention is this.”

The release said that in the past no problems of the indigenous people of Assam were solved. “This has led as many as 12,155 backlog posts of various cadres in various departments of the State Government remaining vacant,” he said.

The convention took as many as 11 resolutions.
