Ceiling fixed on Guwahati Municipal Corporation poll expenditure

GUWAHATI: The State Election Commission, Assam has fixed an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh as the maximum ceiling of expenditure by a candidate contesting as Ward Councillor in the ensuing elections to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), 2022. According to a press release, the State Election Commission has fixed the ceiling on election-related expenditure by each candidate under Rule 13 of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation Election Rules, 1973.
