Check petrol & diesel prices: AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal

GUWAHATI: AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal has appealed to the government to check the rise in prices of petrol and diesel immediately so as to give people a succour.

In a statement issued to the media on Monday, Ajmal said, "Even as the prices of crude oil continues to decline in the international market, the prices of oil being hiked in India everyday is a matter of serious concern. Oil prices have a direct bearing on the people in India. Corona has already ravaged the economy of the country, and the hike in petrol and diesel prices is aggravating the condition of people. Many people have been rendered jobless and the prices of essential commodities have been on the rise which the government cannot check. The hike in oil prices is set to hike prices of essential commodities even more. In such a period of crisis, the government should control the prices of at least oil and LPG."
