GUWAHATI: India, being entrusted with the presidency of the prestigious G20 Summit for the period from December 2022 to November 2023, is playing an important role in shaping and strengthening global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues. C20 India 2023 is one of the official engagement groups of the G20 that provides a platform for civil society Organizations (CSOs) around the world to voice people’s aspirations to the world leaders in the G20.

As part of the C20 Summit, the Government of India has formed 14 working groups revolving around socio-economic matters touching the daily lives of people across the globe. Amongst the various organizations that have been entrusted with the responsibility of anchoring the deliberations pertaining to the 14 working groups, Chinmaya Mission has been chosen by the Government of India for the group VasudhaivaKutumbakam—The World is One Family.

Chinmaya Mission is organizing these conferences under the working group of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. This group will focus on the following nine sub-themes: education, ethics, Ecology/Regenerative development, living oneness, art, culture, and literature; sports, and entertainment; business and economy; earth-revering traditions for global solidarity; and solutions to current world problems.

Chinmaya Mission Guwahati is organizing the C20 conference on May 12 at NEDFI House from 9.30am. In the Guwahati conference, there are four different sessions on the topics of art and culture, dharma, education, industry, and commerce. Bimal Borah, Minister of Industries, Commerce, Public Enterprise, and Cultural Affairs, will be the Chief Guest. Rami Niranjan Desai, an anthropologist and theologian with subject expertise in the northeast region of India, will be the inaugural keynote speaker. Spiritual mentor Swami Mitran will lead the conference.

Under the topic "Dharma" with the sub-theme "Dharma for world peace", Arch Bishop Emeritus, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, CIC, and Dr. Emi Rumi will be the speakers. In the topic Art and Culture with the sub-theme "Role of Culture in Promoting the Concept of the World as One Family", stated a press release.
