Civil Defence observes Van Mahotsava Week

GUWAHATI, July 10: A tree plantation drive was undertaken by the Central Training Institute (Home Guards & Civil Defence) and District Training Centre (Home Guards, Kamrup) at Panikhaiti on the occasion of Van Mahotsava Week which started from July 1 to 7, 2017. Dr. A.P Rout, Director General of Civil Defence & Commandant General of Home Guards, Assam while delivering a speech on the occasion said that this type of plantation activity would bring us more closer to ture and would help in decreasing tural calamities, a press release said. He also stressed that the conservation of biodiversity should be undertaken not only for one week but it should be understood as a eco-friendly measures to check the mece of ture fury.

The Deputy Director General CD & Dy. Commandant General Home Guards, Assam LR Bordoloi, Principal CTI (CD & HG, Assam) Subhas Ch. Das, in-charge District Commandant Home Guards, Kamrup Suman Das and Junior Staff Officer Civil Defence B.B Roy were also present in their respective unit headquarters.
