GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviewed the requirements for rural infrastructure in Assam with Chairman NABARD Dr GR Chintala and Deputy Managing Director PVS Suryakumar through video conference and stressed on leveraging cooperation between the State government and NABARD to give a major push to building infrastructure in the State.
During the discussion, the Chairman and DMD of NABARD underlined the potential for growth in Assam and expressed strong willingness to further its partnership with the State government. They also apprised the CM about funding modalities of the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), NABARD Infrastructure Development Fund (NIDA) and Rural Infrastructure Assistance Scheme (RIAS).
Chief Minister Sarma said that the State government has a long association with NABARD which has played a key role in the State's infrastructure sector. He informed that the government plans to take up infrastructure projects in a big way and support from NABARD would go a long way in this regard. Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha, CGM NABARD Assam Regional Office Baiju Kurup, GM Praveen Raj Udupa, DGM Bhaskar Mahanta and other senior officials were also present in the VC, stated a release.
