GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal released a biography of Dipok Kumar Barthakur, the vice chairman of State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) at a programme held at Taj Vivanta Hotel here on Monday.
It may be noted that veteran journalist Wazbir Hussain wrote the biography christened 'Dipok Kumar Barthakur Right Turn in Assam' depicting the life, works and social contributions of Dr Dipak Kumar Barthakur, stated a release.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the biography is a fitting tribute to the life and works of Dipok Kumar Barthakur. He also expressed gratitude to the writer Wazbir Hussain who has given shape to the biography.
Reminiscing his days with Dipok Kumar Barthakur, Sonowal said that even during his days as the president of AASU, Sonowal received knowledge and guidance from Dipok Kumar Barthakur.
Stating that Dipok Kumar Barthakur has been very inspiring, Sonowal said that as the Vice Chairman of SITA, he lent momentum to the development of Assam and the growth of its economy.
Sonowal also acknowledged his role towards resurging the State's economy which was dented by COVID-19 pandemic.
Sonowal said that he considers himself fortunate to be present at the launching ceremony of Dipok Kumar Barthakur's biography.
He further said that Dipok Kumar Barthakur is a multifaceted personality who can inspire the youths of the state with his multifarious role.
