GUWAHATI: The grand-alliance of the Congress party is not real and only imaginary, said State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Friday.
In a statement, party chief spokesperson Rupam Goswami said the Congress has only formed alliance with the AIUDF. They are lacking confidence to form grand alliance along with the left and other parties, he asserted.
"If under any circumstance, the grand alliance is formed that it won't hamper the BJP's alliance. The Congress party has a record in the past to betray other parties in the name of forming alliance. When the Opposition formed grand alliance in the last Lok Sabha elections, the BJP's seats in the Parliament increase. In Assam, if the grand alliance is formed then the Congress will not be able to carry any positive message among the masses," Goswami asserted.
"After several years, the people of Assam have seen development through transparency. The zero-tolerance policy of the Chief Minister is running and in the forthcoming Assembly polls, the BJP will receive massive mandate with the alliance securing over 100 seats," Goswami added.
