GUWAHATI: The ARPA (All Assam Rail Passengers' Association) has urged the authorities concerned to ensure that services of none of the presently running passenger trains are curtailed or stopped. This request has been made by the president of ARPA, Dipankar Sarma here on Saturday.

Pointing out that "many people depend on their livelihood by travelling on these passenger trains", Sarma added, "if services of any of these trains are curtailed or stopped, many of these common people will suffer immensely especially during the present pandemic times."

Sarma added, "Buses have been allowed to ply with 50% of their capacity. Under the present circumstances, a single train can carry several times more passengers following the COVID-19 related protocols.
