DIMORIA: With as many as 26 people testing corona positive in Assam, Meghalaya is taking stringent precautionary measures to prevent the occurrence of the virus in the State.
The Ri-Bhoi district administration of Meghalaya has set up a scanning centre at 13th Mile on NH-6 that scans the drivers and handymen of each and every vehicle carrying essential commodities to Meghalaya.
Ri-Bhoi district Superintendent of Police C Sytri said, “Such measures have to be taken to prevent the occurrence of coronavirus in Meghalaya. All Meghalaya-Assam entry and exit points have been closed. Only vehicles carrying essential commodities with permission from Ri-Bhoi administration are allowed to enter the State.”
The SP has requested all to obey the lockdown rules.
