GUWAHATI: Cotton University and New Guwahati Adarsha High School on Wednesday kickstarted an innovative mentorship programme called 'Project Springboard' that will engage with Clean Guwahati, Safe Guwahati and Wellness and Health of the Youth as themes of this social and community initiative by students.
This could be a promising start of a public/private partnership as two educational institutions (a higher education institute and a school) have come together to offer solutions to our urban, civic and social problems.
The project, conceptualized and developed by a Bangalore-based social innovator of Assam, is being sponsored by an entrepreneur and will award prizes for the two best projects that offer innovative solutions, as incentives to the young students and an inspiration to their curious minds. Cotton University's collaboration with Adarsha High School could well be the role model for experiential learning and an ideal platform for students to research, interact and ideate for the greater good of society and towards linking socially responsible institutions with the community. It will also provide holistic perspectives to students who can think innovatively while developing societal consciousness and responsibility.
This project partnership by both institutions will have post-graduate mentors and high school mentees teaching and learning under the supervision of six faculty advisors from Cotton University and coordinated by a team of senior faculty of the institution, stated a press release.
