GUWAHATI: At long last, the much-debated issue uniform for HS students of Cotton University has been settled. According to the notification issued by the University authority, the boys need to wear deep blue trousers, blue striped shirts with the university logo on the left upper arm, black waist belt and properly shod in black shoes. Girls, on the other hand, have to wear deep blue trousers, blue striped kurta with the university log in the left upper arm and to be shod in black shoes.

However, there is a relaxation of for students to wear formal traditional dresses in lieu of the regular uniforms on odd numbered of Saturdays in every month.

Talking to this reporter, an office-bearer of the university said that it’s a good beginning. “If any outsiders sit in the class along with the students of this university, there’s no way to identify them in the absence of any uniform,” he said.

A section of students feels proud to be in uniform. “Students from far off places come to study in Cotton University. When we’re in uniform, we don’t have to identify ourselves,” a student said.
