COVID-19: Gauhati University to remain closed

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati University declared through a notification that the varsity week will be postponed till March 29 and the university along with its hostels will remain closed from March 16. According to the notification, the decision was taken in accordance with an order issued by the commissioner and secretary to the Government of Assam. The university has taken the decisions as a precautionary measure to tackle the COVID-19.

It is to be mentioned that the varsity week of Gauhati University kicked off on March 13 and was scheduled till March 20. However, the university has decided to keep its offices open.
