COVID-19: Three new containment zones declared in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: After four new COVID cases, the District Administration have issued an order declaring some areas of the city as containment zones, on Friday. According to the orders, the containment zones are – Doctor's Hostel no. 5 of Guwahati Medical College (GMCH) campus, residential area of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, and Amiyo Nagar.

The boundary of the containment zone of Hostel no. 5 of GMCH is: North - Bhangagarh Kachari Basti Road, South – Hill top Road, East – Guwahati Medical College Auditorium Boundary, West – Sub-Divisional Office boundary of PWD building.

The boundary of the containment zone of the residential area of Dr. B Borooah Cancer Institute is: North - Arjya Bidyapith College Field, South – LGB Chest Hospital Complex, East – plot belongs to Fishery Department, West – Hospital building of Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Hospital.

The boundary of the containment zone of Amiyo Nagar is: North – Boundary of Joypur, South – Holy Child High School, East – Piyali Phukon Nagar, West – Krishna Nagar Indradhanu Club. Any unauthorized entry and exit into the notified containment zones is barred till the respective area is declared safe as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
