GUWAHATI: Passengers arriving at airports or railway stations in Assam from outside the State or abroad will have to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test upon arrival in the State.
Earlier, the State government had exempted fully vaccinated people from mandatory testing on arrival at the airport or railway stations.
"COVID positivity rate is observed even in some of the person(s) who have received two doses of vaccination in a few instances; therefore, the earlier order issued on June 25, exempting people who have been vaccinated with two doses of COVID vaccine from mandatory testing on arrival at airports or railway stations in Assam, is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect," stated an order issued by the Health and Family Welfare department.
