Crime Intelligence Branch Guwahati of RPF seized smuggled cigarettes worth Rs 14 lakh

GUWAHATI: The CIB (Crime Intelligence Branch) Guwahati of RPF recovered a huge quantity of foreign cigarettes at the Guwahati Railway Station on Monday. In this regard, the police have detained a person who was smuggling the cigarettes to Delhi. As per reports, 42 bundles of Korean-made Essen Lights cigarettes and 281 bundles Chinese-made Win King cigarettes were seized. The accused has been forwarded to Deputy Commissioner of Customs Division, Guwahati. While the value of the Essen Lights cigarettes is expected to be Rs. 3,36,000, the Win King cigarettes are Rs. 11,24,000.
