GUWAHATI: The ongoing 15-day cultural exchange programme among various communities -- at the Sankardev Kalakshetra -- saw a host of events held on the fourth day on Saturday. The day began with yoga and pranayam training to the students by yoga practitioners Kiran Sharma, Parashmoni Bora and Mritnujoy Rajak under the direction of yoga guru Mridula Lahkar.
During the second session, traditional dances like Sattriya Nritya were taught to the students by experts like Sitarani Hazarika, Dhan Kumar Bishaya and Nabdev Krishna Shankar.
Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker and Paneri legislator Biswajit Daimary participated in the 'intellectual' session. In his speech, Daimary said that the tribal people are the real friends of nature. He also spoke about the contribution of various indigenous tribes in enriching the culture and tradition of the state from ancient times.
