GUWAHATI: Acting on information in relation to cyber frauds, the crime branch in Guwahati carried out an operation at a private place. The team arrested four people identified as Rubel Rana of West Bengal, Sanidul Islam Khan, Ashraful Islam, and Ratul Khan. The last three hail from Bongaigaon. These four accused were taking shelter in Khanapara and were conducting other cybercrimes.

During the operation, the team seized five ATM cards, five cheques hidden in five insta kits, four mobile phones, and other incrementing articles. The gang was produced before the CJM court, and the Court sent them to five days of police remand.

According to the police source, the gang collects dubious, fake, and impersonated bank account details, ATM Cards, cheque books, and internet banking kits from various parts of the country. Then these items are used to commit cybercrimes and exploit others for their own financial gain.

Examining the seized mobile phones makes it clear how serious the problem is because they show a huge amount of financial transactions that the gang has conducted. A case has been registered in this regard at the Crime Branch Police Station, and an investigation is being carried out.
