GUWAHATI: A single Bench of the Gauhati High Court has given one week to the principal of the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre at Dakhingaon in the city to declare the result of the Recorders' Certificate Class Course (RCCC) training, which had commenced on November 1, 2019, and ended on October 6, 2020.
This directive was issued in response to a Writ Petition filed by 59 trainees who had undergone the training as per the approval of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
The petitioners' counsel informed the Bench that despite the completion of the training course, the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre has not yet declared the result.
On the other hand, the counsel for the Revenue Department submitted before the court a copy of a letter dated November 24 last from the Additional Director of Land Records, Assam to the principal of the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, which requested the latter to take necessary steps for declaring the result of the candidates belonging to BTR and North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), along with the candidates who are outside the jurisdiction of the BTR and NCHAC.
Thereupon, the High Court Bench directed the principal of the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre to declare the result of the RCCC training within one week from the date of receipt of the court's order.
