Defamation suit against AASU leaders Dipanko Kumar Nath & Lurinjyoti Gogoi

GUWAHATI: Former AASU (All Assam Students' Union) leader Simanta Thakuria has moved the court with a defamation suit against AASU president Dipanko Kumar Nath and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, SimantaThakuria said, "I resigned from the AASU for various reasons. However, after a month of my resignation from the students' body, the AASU president and general secretary expelled me from the organization. This is nothing but a move to malign my public image. This has led me to move the Court of Civil Judge, Kamrup (M) with a demotion suit of Rs 1 crore against the AASU president and the general secretary."
