GUWAHATI: A delegation of Assam Students’ Forum (ASF) moved the AHRC (Assam Human Rights Commission) and lodged a complaint against police lathi-charge on students, male police personnel tackling girl students during the agitation against the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Bill).
The ASF comprises students of Cotton University, Dispur Law College, B Barooah College, Handique Girls’ College, etc of Guwahati. A member of the forum said, “We’ve lodged a complaint with the AHRC. A few paper cuttings, video clips etc have also been furnished with the complaint. The footages show that despite peaceful protest the police resorted to lathi-charge. Even male police personnel are seen tackling girl students, a few of whom sustained fracture in their limbs.”
