GUWAHATI: The Dhalpur eviction drive is a natural course of action undertaken by the administration as directed by the judiciary.
Addressing the media here on Friday, the chairman of AMDB (Assam Minority Development Board) Muminul Aowal added, "The Executive wing of the government has performed its due action. Now, if anyone has any objection to the eviction drive at Dhalpur, they can move the judiciary.
"Why is religion interlaced with this eviction drive. There was no debate when such drives were carried out in Kaziranga and areas adjacent to Guwahati."
Aowal added, "The term minority does not necessarily refer to only the Muslims. The term also includes more than 1.5 crores of people who are Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs. The Minority Development Department looks after the issues faced by these people.
" The authorities concerned have undertaken the latest eviction drives within the ambit of the judiciary."
