GUWAHATI: As the HSLC results were declared, it was a celebration time for the students of Government BDS Deaf and Dumb School, Kahilipara. Around 87 percent of the candidates secured the pass marks in the exams. A total of 30 students appeared in the exams, where 26 were successful. Out of the total passed students, 3 secured 1st Division, 22 secured 2nd Division, and one secured 3rd Division.

It should be noted that one of the students from the school secured the highest marks in the State in the subject – Textile Design and Clothing. As many as 4 students secured the highest marks in the State in Fine Art, 13 in Weaving and Textile Designing, 8 in Garment Designing, and 9 in woodcraft.

Meanwhile, overcoming the challenge of disability, five other schools from the State scored 100 percent pass result in the exams. The two students who appeared in the exams from Guwahati Blind High School secured 2nd division. Both the students got letter marks in the Music subject. From Bihpuria Blind High School, only one candidate appeared for the exams and secured the 2nd Division. All the 4 candidates from Nagaon Blind High School passed the exams with 1st Divison. Three candidates received letter marks in Maths. Similarly, all three candidates of Moran Blind High School secured the 1st Division and got letter marks in Music subject. Two students from Jorhat Blind High School secured 2nd Division with letters in Music subject.
