GUWAHATI: The lack of promptness on the part of a section of officials in the State Finance Department has come to the fore. The all-important Draft Audit Reports of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) received the State Finance Department has not been placed before State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. It is only after the reports are placed before the Finance Minister he can initiate discussion with officers concerned and take corrective measures as well as necessary rectification at the draft stage.
This lack of promptness on the part of the officials in the department has led the Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department to direct that all Draft Audit Reports of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) should be processed immediately and placed before the Finance Minister.
