Disaster management mock drill held at Basistha temple

To create awareness about how to protect oneself and others during disasters like earthquakes, fires etc, a two-day mock drill was held at the Basistha temple premises by the Kamrup district disaster management authority.

GUWAHATI: To create awareness about how to protect oneself and others during disasters like earthquakes, fires etc, a two-day mock drill was held at the Basistha temple premises by the Kamrup district disaster management authority.

It was held in collaboration with the NDRF, Fire & Emergency Services, Basishta Mandir Samiti and its volunteers. The mock drill also assessed the preparedness of various agencies in responding to an emergency situation during disasters like an earthquake or fire.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) conducts regular mock drills to check preparedness to tackle different situations. As part of the mock drills, scenarios such as earthquake, fire and evacuation from disaster sites are simulated by various agencies.
