Dispur Police recover stolen items, arrest five thieves in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Dispur Police has busted a gang of thieves and recovered several stolen items from their possession. The Police action was taken after an FIR (First Information Report) was filed by Rakesh Talukdar at Dispur Police Station on August 19, 2021.

The FIR stated that unknown miscreants had stolen a laptop, two mobile phones and some documents. A case was registered at Dispur PS, vide C. No 3005/2021 U/S- 380 IPC. Investigations led to the arrest of another person identified as Prahlad Das alias Boga on August 24. The police recovered two mobile phones and a laptop from his possession.

Further questioning of the arrested accused Boga, led Police to the house of co-accused Rituraj Sharma, from where more stolen articles were found, including two bicycles, two mobile phones and an ASUS laptop.

Accordingly the below mentioned accused persons have been arrested. Prahalad Das (18 yrs); Biraj alias Rituraj Sharma (24 yrs) (receiver); Simanta Kalita (21 years); Pulak Saharia (21 yrs); and Pulak Medhi.
