Dr Ranoj Pegu distributes financial aid to Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Clusters

The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) organized the fund distribution ceremony for the beneficiaries of Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Clusters (VDVKC) under the Pradhan Mantri Janajatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM) on Monday at its own campus.

GUWAHATI: The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) organized the fund distribution ceremony for the beneficiaries of Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Clusters (VDVKC) under the Pradhan Mantri Janajatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM) on Monday at its own campus.

Attending as a chief guest, Minister of Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes (non-BTC), Dr Ranoj Pegu said, “The dream efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India one of the largest economies in the world. Therefore, as part of it for the tribal people to make nthem financially well-off, the central government has taken the initiative of PMJVM. And this can be achieved only when everyone cooperates.

Pegu further stated, “PM’s visionary Van Dhan Vikas Yojana has been improving the livelihood of tribal communities by developing value chains for forest-based products and doubling their income by providing skills and technology.”

“Every citizen is involved in nation-building, and therefore every citizen has the responsibility to successfully implement schemes like the Van Dhan Yojana to develop the nation. The Van Dhan Yojana has given the country a new dimension. The prime minister took steps to double the income of our farmers.

Through this scheme, our people will be able to get a fair price for their produce, which will help them be financially well off,” Pegu added.

“We need to make arrangements for the long-term storage of the food items that we produce and improve the quality of presentation in the market so that the products get their demand in the market. If we have to dominate the market, then we have to double our production rate,” Pegu added. Pegu also said that the aid that the beneficiaries have received is asking them to invest in the business.

In the programme, Ranoj Pegu distributed working capital of Rs 2,40,000 to 68 Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Clusters, for a total of Rs 1.63 crore. The Minister also distributed assistant capital of Rs 1,12,500 to 16 Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Clusters, for a total of Rs 18 lakh.

On the occasion, Pegu also launched Trissam Pomelo Marmalade and a variety of millet products.

The programme was attended by the secretary of the welfare of tribal affairs department (Plain), Mukesh Sahu, director of IIE, Lalit Sharma, and others.
