GUWAHATI: As per the direction of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the draft photo electoral rolls for the year 2022 will be published on Monday.
Except for the five LACs where bye-election was held on Saturday – Gossaigaon, Mariani, Tamulpur, Bhabanipur and Thowra, draft photo electoral rolls for the remaining 121 LACs will be published on Monday. After the draft electoral rolls are published, people can file claims and objections. The process for registering claims and objections will continue from November 1 to November 30. Disposal of claims and objections must be completed by December 20, 2021, and the final electoral roll will be published on January 5, 2022.
For the five LACs, the draft electoral rolls will be published on November 8, 2021. State Election Department sources said that all the electors and eligible citizens who have attained 18 years of age, can file their applications for enrolment of their names in the draft photo electoral rolls.
