Ensure COVID vaccine for all, AIUDF urges government

GUWAHATI: "The State government must ensure that each individual gets vaccinated against Coronavirus. Hence, the Union government must also send adequate amount of anti-COVID vaccines to Assam," this was stated by the AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) in a statement here on Sunday.

Expressing concern at media reports indicating shortage of COVID-19 vaccines in the State at a time when there is a spike in such cases, AIUDF general secretary (organization) Aminul Islam further added, "COVID cases were confirmed during this time last year. It has again started to spread this year now. While many are newly infected, a few have even succumbed to the infection in Assam. Hence, the Health department as well as the masses must remain very cautious. The people must follow all the COVID-19 related protocols."

Pointing out that parents are worried to send their children to the education institutions during this time of pandemic, the AIUDF leader also appealed to the authorities concerned to take steps for vaccinating the teachers and staff in all schools and colleges across the State.
