GUWAHATI: The All Assam Koch-Rajbongshi Yuva-Chatra Sanmilani (AAKRYCS) has appealed to the voters in the BTR (Bodo Territorial Region) to exercise conscience vote in the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) election slated to be held on December 7 and 10, 2020.
In a statement issued to the media here on Saturday, AAKRYCS president Vaishnab Koch said, "The Koch-Rajbongshis have been struggling every moment for their rights and dues in the BTR. We've are being deprived of our political, social and economic rights, as though we're second class citizens in the BTR. The Koch-Rajbongshis in the Kamatapur Kingdom established by Naranayan and Chilarai have been literally languishing there today. We've to live amidst apprehensions all the time because of injustice being meted to us by various political parties. No party has taken the demand for ST status to the Koch-Rajbongshis with the right earnestness. In the past, the leaders of various political parties did attempt to lure voters with money power. We, therefore, appeal to all voters in the BTR not to be lured with money, but to exercise conscience votes."
