GUWAHATI: Police arrested Amar Tamang and Roshan Rai, both Darjeeling residents, at the ISBT outpost. They were in possession of fake currency notes worth Rs 5,50,000. The police said that after questioning the two of them, they admitted to taking the money from Six Mile resident Raja and intended to take it to Darjeeling where they would be paid Rs 1 lakh.
At the Gorchuk police station, a report has been filed under the case number 39/2023/sec 489 (A)/489 (B)/34 IPC. They both were produced before the CJM court on Monday, and sent to three days police custody.
