Falling debris from Maligaon flyover damages school bus in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Problems with the under-construction Maligaon flyover are far from over. On Tuesday, falling debris from the flyover damaged a school bus which was passing under it at the time of the incident.

The bus which suffered damages belonged to the IIT Guwahati Kendriya Vidyalaya. Thankfully, no one suffered any injuries, given that a large number of two-wheelers and four-wheelers pass through the same stretch of road every hour throughout the day. A teacher onboard the bus registered an FIR regarding the incident at the Jalukbari Police Station.

This was the latest of the unlucky developments at the flyover and took place just one day after a person was electrocuted in the same locality. With the scheduled date of release only a few days away, the final work of the project is going on at a tremendous pace and safety precautions are being allegedly ignored.
