GUWAHATI: AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) supremo Badruddin Ajmal has alleged that the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is targeting him out of fear for the grand alliance.
In a statement, Ajmal said, "The BJP is spreading false narratives against me as it is scared of the grand alliance led by the Congress. Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma speaks against me in every meeting. Similarly, the Union Home Minister is also slamming me and in the future Prime Minister NarendraModi might also speak against me. This is a sign of defeat of the BJP." The AIUDF supremo alleged that in the last five years, the BJP has only created beneficiaries by introducing schemes in the name of development.
"Now the people of Assam have decided to remove the BJP from power in the forthcoming polls. When Minister Sarma talks about mandir, masjid in his speeches then it is not considered communal. But when we speak on these topics then it is said to be communal. No matter how hard Minister Sarma tries in the forthcoming polls, the Congress-led grand alliance will form government," Ajmal added.
