Forest Muster Roll workers regularization: Bon Shramik Santha threaten self-immolation

GUWAHATI: The Sadou Asom Bon Shramik Santha has demanded the government to regularize the jobs of Muster Roll workers of the Forest Department before the Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The body underlined that they will stage protest at the Forest Department head office, Aranya Bhawan and threatened to self-immolate themselves if their demands are not met.

The workers stated that due to the lockdown they are in economic distress and are unable to run their families.

Lower Assam secretary of Sadou Asom Bon Shramik Sanstha, Sikon Deka said that a total of 1,132 Muster Roll workers of the Forest Department are in distress. The body said that either their jobs should be regularized with salaries or the government should provide fix pay before the aforementioned date.
