Guwahati: The obsequies rites of the Former Assam Chief
Minister late Tarun Gogoi has been performed on Thursday.
The obsequial rites were performed with 'Naam kirtan'
at Minister's colony, in Guwahati.
Speaking to media Gaurav Gogoi, son of CM Tarun Gogoi said, " It's not only my family who lost their dearest and loving member of the
family. There are many families who have lost their dearest member of the
family this year. Some have lost their lives fighting against Covid 19, where
some have lost in a road accident. This 2020 year has been a very tough year
for all."
He further said," today we have arranged Naam kirtan on the occasion of obsequial rites of my father because we have capabilities. But there are several families who cannot afford these things. So I pray for them as well that God may give them too the courage to stay strong."
The- three-time Assam CM passed away on Monday (November 23) at 05.34 pm at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after fighting against Covid related segments.
The last rites of the veteran Congress leader were
performed on November 26 at the Navagraha crematorium.
