GUWAHATI: Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Saturday slammed the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) for criticizing the alliance of Congress and AIUDF. Gogoi said the BJP has allied with AIUDF twice in RS polls by electing Jayanta Baruah and Haider Hussain as common candidates. “Not only in the RS polls, earlier, the BJP allied with the AIUDF to form parishads in Nagaon, Darrang and Hojai”, but he also added. He stated that Congress will contest the 2021 Assembly Elections with secular parties and organizations who believe in the Indian Constitution.

He added that, as a first step, the party will field Ajit Bhuyan as a common candidate with AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) in the Rajya Sabha elections on March 26.
