GUWAHATI: Assam has been passing through worst crisis period due to Government's wrong and unplanned whimsical handling of the problems arising out of COVID-19, flood and erosion, said former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. Similarly for not taking adequate measures at proper time in repairing embankments and other anti-erosion schemes by government has caused immense crisis, he said.
The situation, instead of improving, is worsening as a result of which the number of COVID-affected persons reached 25,092 and death 58, a press release said.
In case of flood and erosion also 50 lakh people have been affected and the death is very high, he said, and added: "This is our worst time and if Modi doesn't consider it worthwhile to visit Assam at the most distressed time it is nothing but shedding crocodile tears."
