GUWAHATI: Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's health condition deteriorated on Thursday and he has been shifted to the ICU in the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College and Hospital).
The former Chief Minister had tested COVID-19 positive. Even though he tested COVID negative after treatment, he was not released as his health condition was not stable. He had other health problems as well.
Talking to the media, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "After having breakfast, the oxygen level of the former Chief Minister fell. He felt pain. He was immediately shifted to the ICU. His condition is a little better than what it was in the morning. When artificial oxygen is supplied to him, his oxygen level comes at 92-93 and when oxygen support is removed his oxygen level comes down to 80.
"Tomorrow our doctors attending to the former Chief Minister will have a discussion with the doctors of AIIMS through video conferencing to ascertain if our treatment is right on track. If need be, we may take him to New Delhi for better treatment."
