Fresh waterlogging in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: After a hiatus, the city again witnessed heavy waterlogging in several areas due to a few bouts of torrential rainfall since Saturday afternoon. Waist-deep water accumulated even in streets and houses of areas which had not witnessed waterlogging previously, such as Bhetapara and parts of Panjabari. Many cars and two-wheelers stalled on the waterlogged roads.

Overnight rainfall aggravated the situation, but the artificial flood receded by Sunday afternoon.

The Jorabat area witnessed excessive waterlogging, with even trucks getting stalled and causing traffic snarls.
