GUWAHATI: Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated in the city amidst COVID-19 protocols on Saturday. Devotees offered prayers outside a Ganesh Mandir at Ganeshguri in the city while the temple doors remained closed. They were seen wearing masks and queuing outside to offer prayers at the famous temple. With Saturday being the weekend lockdown day people on roads were thin despite the festival.
"Warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. May lord Ganesha remove our obstacles and bless us all with peace, prosperity and good health," tweeted Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on the occasion.
