Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court rejected the bail plea of the five accused in the infamous Sub Inspector recruitment exam scam. On Friday, the one judge bench of Justice Rumi Kumari Phukan rejected the bail plea of the accused Kushal Das, Devraj Das, Sandip Sarma, Tarinikanta Banikya and Ankujit Baruah.

Kushal Das and Sandip Sarma were arrested back in the month of September. Devraj Das, an employee of Northeast Frontier Railway was arrested on October 10. Police recovered money from his house and his wife's bank locker. From Tarinikanta Banikya's home, crores of rupees were seized.

All of these accused were arrested by police and CID.

The SI recruitment exams were held on September 20. The infamous scam came into limelight when the question papers were leaked on social media 15 minutes after the commencement of the exam. Around 66,000 candidates sat for the exam.

However, the re-exam for the posts will be held on November 22. The admit cards have been released for the test, and candidates can download the admit cards on slprbassam.in. The timing for the exam is given as 12 PM to 2 PM.
