Gauhati High Court rejects CBI's appeal in Karabi, Dubori murder case

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court has dismissed the criminal petition appeal (Crl.A./145/2021) filed by CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) assailing the judgement of the trial court acquiting Bhagya Kalita and another person of charges of murder under Section 302 IPC.

Senior counsels A.K. Bhattacharya and D.K. Mishra appeared for Bhagya Kalita during the hearing.

Kalita along with another person were charged for the murder of Karabi Das, wife of Ujjal Kr Das and their minor daughter in 1995.

The dismissal order was issued by the HC Bench of Justice Suman Shyam and Justice Parthivjyoti Saikia.
