GUWAHATI: Gitartha Kalita is a known
name in the field of fashion and modelling. Recently, he has been appointed as
the Brand Ambassador of the multinational brand ITC for North East India Region
to showcase and promote the beauty, fashion, culture and tradition of the North
East. The launch event style by Diplu Hazarika was held at ITA cultural complex
Machkhowa, Guwahati in association with Coverage Entertainment.
Recently Gitartha received the National Youth Icon 2020 award at an event named Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose National Award 2020. The award was presented by North East Big Cultural Society at a programme held at Shilpagram, Guwahati on December 30, 2020.
Gitartha also received Nebcus Best Model Of The North East 2020 award (polular) at the 12th annual NEBCUS Media Awards 2020 and Bharat Ranta Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Awards 2020 held at the Guwahati Press Club on September 1, 2020.
Son of Srimanta Kalita and Binita Bhuyan Kalita of Sivasagar, Gitartha was interested in modelling since very young and had participated at various acts while he was in school. After passing his higher secondary exams with star mark from Jorhat's JB College, he shifted to Guwahati for his engineering degree, which he completed from Royal Global University. It was here that he got a bigger platform to display his modelling skills.
Gitartha's awards and titles include Digdarshan Best Cover Model 2015, Nebcus Most Popular Model Of The Year 2016, Aserenga Most Promising Model Of The Year 2017, Nebcus Best Male Model 2017, Nebcus Most Popular Model Of The Year 2018, Nebcus Glam Star 2019, among others. He has walked the ramp in a number of fashion shows as a showstopper and graced the covers of magazines like Bismoi, Rahasya, PriyoSakhi, GNRC Swasthya, Trishnatur, Maya and many more.
Gitartha was also seen in the advertising hoardings of New World Technology and VL Cloths. He has modelled on countless occasions for designer brands like Tribe Colour, Parijat Blossoms, Ishanika, RBR Creations, Naina's Creations, Chiranjeevi Bhava, etc. Gitartha has appeared on the Cover Of 20 Calendar and over all he has done more than 100 print projects in the field of fashion and modelling. He has also received offers for a number of Assamese music videos and mega serials. Now he is ready to represent the brand ITC in a positive light and by doing so, help to increase brand awareness and inspire people. This renowned model stated that he is very happy by receiving the National Youth Icon 2020 award and promised to do more work enthusiastically in the field of fashion and modelling.
